Anawin Bungalows

It is obvious that we were unfortunate with our placement, as we were accommodated in the very last building. While the property itself has a beautiful territory — which likely explains the many positive reviews — our personal experience was extremely disappointing.
Directly beneath our building, wastewater from the laundry of a neighboring hotel was constantly being discharged. The continuous noise and the terrible smell around the house made our stay very unpleasant. I couldn’t even sit outside and enjoy the views, which is something you naturally expect in such a setting.
Guests should be clearly informed about such serious inconveniences in advance. Fortunately, we had booked only one night — otherwise our entire vacation would have been ruined. In my opinion, this situation shows a lack of respect toward visitors, especially since this issue could and should be addressed or managed in a better way.

Could not of picked a more perfect place for me and my partner to stay. Rooms where lovely and clean, and far enough away tucked down a quiet road so no noise from the strip.

Owner was so friendly, and all staff where happy and approachable. The owner also made sure we had all our tours we wanted to do all planned for us!! Such an amazing day!

Very happy with Anawin bungalows, we had the one at the very end and we had beautiful jungle views from their big windows. They have nice cats around and it's in a more peaceful area but still walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We didn't have breakfast with them as there's too many amazing café's around we wanted to try, there is also a famous restaurant just outside of it where people queued up every evening.

While we were close to everything, we were hiding in nature with the surroundings of the bungalow that made us enjoy the stay.
The staff was super friendly and helpful.
We were picked up and dropped off at the hotel for each activity we ve done with their agency. Also the quality of the activities didn't deceive. ( sanctuary elephant activity, the professional zip lining crew, the islands and the tiger cave) it was all perfect
Ismail the host was always making sure we were good and get what we were looking for.

Stayed at Anawin Bungalows in Ao Nang (Jan 2026) with my family (2 adults, 2 children).

Unfortunately, our experience raised serious concerns:

No cleaning or housekeeping was provided at any time during our stay (towels were left outside only)

Bedding on arrival was stained and torn, and our children found sand and hair in their beds

At checkout, when we raised a question about the electricity charge, the owner became verbally aggressive and used offensive language towards my wife in front of our children

We have since noticed other reviews describing similar issues, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident.

We have formally raised this with Booking.com and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

We would encourage future travellers to carefully consider recent reviews before booking.
