I assumed that was a navy museum, yet it's so much more than that! Besides ship's naval history, it is in fact natural history, ethnography, archaeology and history museum if the province of Krabi in whole. So much to see, so much to learn there!
07/11/2025 13:05This museum is quite popular, often with local school groups visiting. Individual visitors are not accepted during these times!
There are set visiting times and durations! Tours must be guided, and no English is available (at least my guide didn't speak English, but he did his best to communicate using a mobile translation app). The tour lasts about an hour, including the 4D film, the deck, and the command room.
Tour Times:
9:00、10:00、11:00、13:00、14:00、15:00
Admission is free, including the 4D film.
If you encounter a student group, you'll have to wait for the next session, so it's best to arrive early or call ahead to inquire about sessions without student groups.

I walked from the centre of Krabi to the museum and was told I could not go in till 230 because of the school children were booked in. Shame I would have liked to see inside. Instead I strolled around outside the boat and aircraft instead.
28/02/2025 16:53I strongly agree with Mik Oliver's review (lovely photos by the way, Mik) - it wouldn't be on many visitors 'to do' list, but if you're mobile and fancy something a little different, give it a try.
A piece of coastline with some retired naval hardware - a fighter plane and military sea vessel, some nice gardens and administrative buildings. I imagine it's very photogenic at sunset.
Open areas of the museum were closed when we visited and it seems to have weird opening times.
A brilliant museum. All within the ship, there is a 4d film and information about the history of Krabi and surrounding areas. Considering admission is free, we were very pleasantly surprised by the experience!
The guide apologized for not speaking English, however that really is not needed as there are translations throughout - he was very kind!
