About Krabi and Koh Lanta

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Koh Lanta sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

We had a great time, stayed for 4 nights as 2 couples in 2 separate rooms.
Location perfect, close to shops and massages, right on the beach, lovely pool, good cocktails - we only had snacks from the hotel (club, salad, chicken sandwich which were all okay).
Lovely body wash provided, slippers, robes and flip flops for your room.. hammock on the balcony.

Staff welcoming, breakfast basic but good- there's an egg "bar" where you can order your preference, warm thai food, some chicken sausages most day, toast, jams, yogurt, fruit and pastries. All happy and full in the mornings.

One downside was the water pressure in the shower/bath- manageable, but for the price, should definitely be upgraded.

Thank you

I ask if they’re open for food at 6PM during sundown (place is empty, should have been my warning) and if they have tables by the beach. They say yes, but I have to push them before anyone bothers to show me. They ask what I want to drink without giving me a menu. I order a watermelon juice.

It takes fifteen minutes and gets delivered by a cleaner.

I ask for a menu, and they look at me like I’m insane. Then they ask if I want to order food, at this point im feeling very uncomfortable and akward. Just really strange interactions.

They eventually bring a menu but won’t let me hold it. They just stand holding half with the other half on the table, hovering awkwardly over me as if im not to be trusted with it.

Three different people try to push me to sit on the beach instead of where I chose. Im literally the only customer.

At this point I just want to leave, I ask the price of the Juice which also takes multiple people(80baht).

I hand them 100 baht and leave after only a sip of my drink.

Weirdest, most uncomfortable experience I’ve had in restaurant anywhere, let alone Thailand which is typically incredibly warm and hospitable. I have spent months on this island, eating out daily at local spots without anything half as weird.

Not welcoming, confused, and awkward. Juice was ok but couldn't finish it or even look at a menu comfortably.

With so many incredible options, some just minutes a way, I wouldn't waste my time or energy here again.

We booked the Resort just for 6 nights

Our room was ok but there was a terrible smell from the bathroom which permeated the whole room. We asked if we could change but they were fully booked.

We had a balcony with a nice view of the pool and beach. We also had a large space with a hammock.

The room was spacious with a nice sitting area. The en suite had a tub plus shower but the stench ruined it.

The resort had a pool, and sunbeds overlooking the beach, which was lovely.

Breakfast was basic and limited, no variation. One day we ordered poached eggs and waited over 10 minutes and when we finally went and asked how long they'd be, we were told none had been ordered.

Unfortunately we couldn't wait for them to then be cooked as we were going on a tour.

The cleaners left a lot to be desired. Often barely touching the room.

We wouldn't stay here again.

Great location, spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff is a bit tired and slow, and both the breakfast and cleanliness could use improvement. With a bit of effort, this place could truly be a gem.

stunning accommodation at very good value for money. Best soft bed Ive slept in! excellent pool, right on the beach. Great bar next door with live music and fire show.
Good beach for swimming.
Negatives..breakfast very limited and badly done. All restaurants in the area, walking distance all the same, nothing very interesting.
