About Krabi and Koh Lanta

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Koh Lanta sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

We stayed at Rawi Warin Resort & Spa for two weeks together with our friends. We lived in the Tropical rooms and booked the stay with breakfast only.
The rooms are surrounded by beautiful greenery, so it really feels like living in a tropical garden. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and always very clean.
The hotel territory is large, very green and beautifully maintained. One thing to know is that the resort is quite hilly, so sometimes walking up and down can be a bit challenging. However, the hotel has cars that drive around the territory, and the staff are always happy to pick you up and take you anywhere in the resort.
The pool area is wonderful, especially the infinity pool with a beautiful sea view. We spent a lot of time there. The staff near the pool were always very friendly, smiling and welcoming, which made the atmosphere even nicer.
Breakfast had a good selection of food, but I personally think it would be great if there were more coffee machines, because many guests like to start their morning with coffee and sometimes there was a queue.
Overall we had a very nice two-week stay with friends and left with warm memories of Koh Lanta.

(My actual rating is 3.5) The most important point: this is emphatically not a five star hotel. Four at absolute most. Do not expect a true luxury experience or you’ll be sorely disappointed.

It is a very large resort, with the expected amenities, full of young children. That’s what you should picture. The pools are decent and there are a few. The beach is nice enough. The grounds are beautiful but most of the rooms are up a steep hill. The breakfast is pretty good. The dinner is 4-5x more expensive than you’d find half a block away, as are the massages in the resort. They charge 200baht per day to rent a snorkel.

The beach that guests have direct access to is very short, maybe a 5 min walk down. You have to make a big detour to access the rest of the beach with stores, bars, etc. Not sure why the resort doesn’t build simple steps over the rocks.

Now, I stayed in the private villa as a honeymoon splurge. The photos of the villa were definitely strategic online, but it was nonetheless a nice space and very special to have a private beachfront pool and direct access (though other guests used our path constantly). The villa let us avoid a lot of the issues, like the aforementioned screaming children. But not entirely. The resort in general is quite dated, and the gym needs to be refreshed. Wifi was spotty and didn’t work in several parts of the resort.

All in all, if you expect a big resort and all you care about is beach and pool, you’ll be happy. If you see five star and expect the Ritz, you’ll be very disappointed. If you are couple and want your tropical fantasy, splurge for the villa. Watching the sunset over the sea in the pool was really a magical experience.

This place is simply perfect! Awesome service, great rooms with awesome view. Nice beach. Hotel located in beautifull garden/jungle.
Breakfasts are great, for the whole week we eat everyday something different and everything was tastefull.

I would give this place 10 stars not just 5.
That was probably the best hotel we ever visited, and we travel a lot.

We had a wonderful stay at Rawi Warin for 8 nights - we really didn’t want to leave! The villa was wonderful and felt very private yet still easy enough to walk down to the pool and breakfast, etc.
Breakfast was great - my eggs were perfect everyday and the pancakes were the freshest I’ve had! :)
The pool is lovely but admittedly we spent more time on sunbeds at the beach as the pool did get busy and people would reserve beds early in the morning. It was also quieter on the beach. The location of the hotel is excellent - it was easy to walk to nearby restaurants, shops, etc. We did also rent a motorbike through the hotel and it was great to explore the island and drive to other spots for dinner, etc. but you could also easily get a taxi to go anywhere.
Highly recommend this hotel and when we return to Koh Lanta we will definitely stay here again! :)
The staff were so friendly and we really felt at home by the end of the trip - hence we didn’t want to leave.
A final shout out to the manager, Eric - super friendly and clearly doing a wonderful job.
Thanks again to all for a wonderful stay… we will be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

We stayed at Rawi Warin Resort & Spa for 10 days and really enjoyed our time there.

The food was great, and the service was excellent. All of the staff were friendly, kind, and welcoming, which made our stay very comfortable.

Toward our checkout around December 17, the atmosphere changed a bit as the Christmas Holiday season started. More families with baby and kids arrived, the breakfast area became quite busy, and the pool area felt much more like a kids’ play space. This wasn’t something we noticed when we first checked in.

Rawi Warin is beautiful resort, but if you’re looking for a quieter and more relaxing stay, it’s better to visit Koh Lanta outside the main holiday season.

Overall we had a wonderful stay and would happily come back!!
