About Krabi and Ao Nang
Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.
Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel.
I'll start with the positives... the service is great and the staff are lovely.
The location is excellent without needing a taxi to get to the main street.
The kids pool is brilliant but thats about it.
The cons...
Its built on a hill with very poor access for wheelchairs and strollers, whoever built it did not plan it properly theres no elevator to the top and if you dont order a buggy its a 5 minute walk to the lobby through a maze of stairs and pathways.
The bedsheets smelled like P... we asked to get them changed on the first night.
The breakfast was below average for a 4 star hotel, there was fish sauce in the vegetarian options.
Access to the hotel is via a road with no safe access for pedestrians walking up to the hill.
The pool bar was nice but one time the provided towels were dirty.
Overall I would rate this place 5 out of 10.
You get what you pay for but again, this is definitely not a 4 star hotel.
Fantastic service and excellent accommodations. I have stayed at this hotel twice, and both experiences were outstanding. The service was consistently excellent, and the rooms were clean, stylish, and very comfortable. The restaurant was also impressive, with attentive staff and high-quality food—I highly recommend it.
We stayed in a premium city-view room, which was spotless, well designed, and conveniently located near the lobby. The bed was extremely comfortable and provided a restful night’s sleep.
The front desk team was very helpful and welcoming. Although the lobby can be busy, humid, and somewhat noisy due to street traffic, the staff maintained a warm and professional attitude at all times, greeting guests with genuine smiles and even recognizing guests by name. Special recognition goes to the RDM, Khun Kelly, for the wonderful surprise of personally escorting me to my room. Bravo to the entire team.
We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach. The location is excellent — close to everything yet still very comfortable and relaxing. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and featured a lovely balcony with a great view, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The gym is impressive: modern, complete, and far above what you typically expect from a resort. Staff throughout the hotel were consistently polite and helpful, contributing to a very pleasant atmosphere.
Breakfast is very good, with a notable Indian influence — plenty of curries and some truly delicious vegetarian options. The only disappointment was the pastries, which unfortunately did not match the overall quality.
One important point for future guests: this is a very family-oriented resort, with a large number of children. While this creates a lively environment, travelers seeking a quieter, more adult-focused stay may want to keep it in mind.
Overall, a comfortable, well-run hotel with excellent facilities and a great base for exploring Krabi.
What do you get when you add Thai hospitality to Holiday Inn standards? A wonderful stay!
First, every member of the staff were, of course, friendly. Big welcoming smiles at the front desk, restaurant, pool and housekeeping.
We were in building 6 and loved the mountain view. The terraced resort was compact but pleasant to walk around.
The room was spacious with good storage. The drying rack on the balcony for bathing suits was a great feature. Beds were soft and supportive with the ihg pillows we love so much.
The breakfast buffet was always full of tasty items: Indian and Thai curries, pasta dishes, vegetarian selections, dim sum, waffles, pastries, cereal and fruits, plus eggs to order and a kids corner with a very clever donut wall.
Having a light dinner and listening to the live music was a relaxing end to our days.
At first, I thought the pool area seemed small, but it was never overcrowded. It was very pleasant.
Also due to note: though, not directly affiliated with Holiday Inn, the tour agency desk in the lobby was a great help in us understanding activities and we were very happy we used them to book the ferry to Phuket.
Stayed here for 2 nights and the experience was amazing and superb.
Staff here is very friendly, polite and so down to earth. Welcome drink (coconut water with butterfly pea) was very refreshing.
They provide room bar and snacks which are paid. The location of the hotel is really good and at a walking distance from Aao Nang Beach. There is a 7/11 store right in front of the hotel which is really helpful.
The pure vegetarian indian food options were more and really delicious .
The pool side view is really good with both the pool view and the mountain along with aao nang beach view.
It's right on the Krabi Shopping street so everything is pretty much accessible within 50/100 meters.
