About Krabi and Ao Nang

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

I stayed at this hotel for two days. On the first day, I checked into the newer building closer to the main road. The next day, I moved to the more premium room in the older building, which had the lobby. While my experience in the less expensive room was fantastic, I encountered significant water issues in the more expensive room throughout the day. Water was unavailable until almost 5:30 p.m., and even then, the pressure was extremely low. Although the rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast spread was decent. If they could resolve these water problems, my stay would have been exceptional. Considering that the room was priced around 5-6K THB, I expected better service.

We had a fantastic stay at Sugar Marina Hotel in Krabi and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located, but what truly made our stay special was the outstanding hospitality.

A huge thank you to Nui, one of the hotel staff, who went above and beyond to take care of us. We originally had a split stay booked—2 nights in a Deluxe room and 2 nights in a Supreme room—but Nui kindly upgraded us to a Deluxe room to accommodate us and make our stay smoother and more comfortable. This thoughtful gesture made a big difference and showed genuine care for guest satisfaction.

Nui was incredibly warm, professional, and attentive, and made us feel truly welcomed. It’s staff like this who turn a great hotel into an unforgettable experience.

We highly recommend Sugar Marina Hotel to anyone visiting Krabi and would absolutely stay here again. Exceptional service, great rooms, and hospitality that comes from the heart!

The property is surreal with amazing high tech rooms overlooking the mighty cliffs. Good breakfast menu offering variety of cuisines. They also feature a good long swimming pool. The hotel in located in the market area & lot of good restaurants & massage parlours, 7 eleven, pharmacy, laundry service is available with 100m radius.

Even there is Mr Krob Bike & Car rental exactly opposite the hotel. Bike rentals starts from 200 Baht for 24 hrs & car rentals from 1000 Baht of 24 hrs.

This hotel is a 3-star at best. The staff tries their hardest to make guests feel welcome but the property just fails to warrant its 4-star and 4.5 ratings. Maintenance needs to be uplevelled as the whole resort is showing massive signes of ageing. Cleanliness is an issue too. The moment you step into the elevator and the grounds itself - there’s trash all around. There are also two buildings for rooms and if you’re at the bottom one - you need to drag your luggage - in the heat and rain - all the way back to the upper building just to check out. The ramp going up is steep and hot (or rainy) - there should at least be a luggage locker and satellite staff at the bottom building as the entire checkin and checkout process is difficult and inefficient and there are no staff to help with luggage — I don’t recommend it specially for families with kids as it’s just not a seamless experience.

i have to say the room is clean as it can be - needs improvement but comfortable enough. Bathroom
needs more lights though especially as it’s painted black / gray. I like the balcony area overlooking the cliffs. Bed is okay - sheets a little scratchy. The saving grace for this hotel is it’s friendly staff and the very central
location which is right by the road.

Lovely hotel and staff. Nui was particularly helpful. She was kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. We reached the hotel before the scheduled check-in time, and she went out of her way to arrange early access to our room, which made a big difference after our journey. Her professionalism and warmth truly stood out and made our stay start on such a positive note.
