About Krabi and Koh Lanta

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Koh Lanta sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

Having spent over 3 months in Thailand at all price points, this was my worst experience. At $38 CAD (865 THB)/night for a private room with AC, it is cheap, but there are far better value options in the area.

The Property: Our room was old and dilapidated with a fridge that smelled. Bed extremely firm and feels like sleeping on haystack. The window overlooked a pile of plastic garbage, and the hot water only worked at very low pressure. There is no in-room safe, yet they have signs posted saying they aren't responsible for theft. Room is 5 min walk from the beach and once you get to the beach, to find a swimmable part without rocks, you have to walk 10 minutes north. There were a lot of smokers during our stay.

The Service: The famous Thai hospitality was completely absent. They were incredibly strange about towels; when we requested one extra towel for our baby, the staff was condescending, laughed at us, and only provided it after a long, reluctant argument. This happened every time we needed room service. No hand towels or beach/pool towels are provided (a first for me having been to 50+ countries).

Verdict: Avoid. Despite the low price, the poor room quality and disrespectful service make it a bad choice.

Amazing value for money stay. Rooms were clean. Facilities are good. Staff are very helpful, we rented a bike/scooter through them for a good price, they also allowed us to extend our stay several times after I fell quite ill and was unsure when I’d be able to leave.

Nice big rooms, there is also a restaurant in front of the beach you can get there pretty much anything food is decent prices are tourist prices but it's still cheap.
When we were there a lot of rain in the island ‏which make making laundry a problem we didn't receive enough towels.
Most of the rooms are on the other side of the road what you need to be aware when you cross but that's like that in most of the resorts
Overall great service in big nice rooms with AC close to the beach and nice restaurant
Not bad at all! There's also a Pool

Lanta Nature Beach Resort is a lovely, laid back place with clean, comfortable rooms and a fantastic bar and restaurant. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed, and everything feels well cared for. We initially booked for only two days but wanted to extend our stay. Unfortunately, they were fully booked, which says a lot about how good this place really is. A great spot to unwind and enjoy true island comfort.
