About Krabi and Ao Nang

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

We were very pleased with our stay here. The location being right on the bustling walking street and about two blocks from the beach was absolutely perfect.

Initially I was concerned it would be noisy at night but it really wasn't bad at all. Our family did a lot during the days which means we were tired and ready for bed by night anyway!

Our son really enjoyed the play area in the hotel as well as the rooftop pool on the days we didn't venture out to the beach.

We got breakfast included with our stay which was amazing! They had a variety of options as well as fantastic coffee from the on site cafe. We were very very happy with the quality of food and fruit served every morning.

We will definitely be returning if we stay in the main KRABI area again.

Kokotel is located right in the center of Ao Nang’s main street. The location is excellent and very convenient, but it does get quite noisy at night. In addition, soundproofing is poor — you can hear people and noise from the corridor clearly, so light sleepers may struggle to get proper rest.

The room itself appeared clean and came with some nice amenities. However, the shower looked quite old, with visible rust and limescale. The sink was leaking when I arrived, and maintenance had to come the next morning to fix it.

The bed was comfortable, and the staff were a highlight: very nice, polite, informative, and genuinely helpful.

Breakfast costs 250 baht and is not served directly at the hotel. Instead, you receive a small paper voucher to use at a nearby restaurant with an à la carte menu. Given the many options around, you could just as easily choose any restaurant in the area for breakfast.

My room had a balcony facing the main street, which was nice to have, especially during the day — though it did contribute to the noise issue at night.

Overall: great location and friendly staff, but noise and some maintenance issues reduce the comfort, especially for light sleepers.

The hotel is nicely located in the center of Krabi, close to everything you might need. It’s clean, well designed, and has a beautiful lobby café that serves good coffee and some snacks.

However, the biggest issue is the noise. The hotel faces several nightclubs, and the music goes on very late. The sound isolation of the doors, windows, and walls is extremely weak, so you’ll hear the noise clearly in your room. If you’re a light sleeper, be prepared to use earplugs or you won’t be able to rest properly.

On the positive side, the staff are friendly and helpful — especially WAI, who was incredibly kind. She helped us arrange a place to change clothes after we came back late from a boat trip, since we had checked out earlier in the morning and left our luggage at the hotel. Her attitude and professionalism really made a difference.

Overall, a clean and convenient hotel, but the noise problem is a serious downside.

Great location, and wonderful staff. Had breakfast every morning and we enjoyed the options. Mid range hotel. They provided towels for beach. They checked our room b4 we left to notify us of something we left behind, how nice! A little more cleaning could be done, but in general, good

We stayed here for 3 days in January. This is your standard average hotel but is in a great location - walking distance to the beach and to many restaurants and stores. The building seems old and so was the room but it was clean. The breakfast was menu-style (rather than buffet) and was not that great. The one lady part of the afternoon staff seemed like she didn’t care but the night staff was very nice and helpful and the others were generally very nice. The one thing I appreciated about this hotel was that they offered to store our bags for us from 6am to 5pm when we left for the airport (we checked out very early morning due to going on a boat tour). They also allowed us to use their pool showers when we got back from our tour to got ready to leave for the airport, which was nice of them. Otherwise the hotel is a “you get what you pay for” type. Note they only have one elevator so sometimes it was easier to just take the stairs (there are only 5 floors so it wasn’t too bad). The elevator was not clean. They do have a refillable water bottle station which was super helpful and convenient so we didn’t have to keep buying water.
