About Krabi and Ao Nang

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

We stumbled upon Zama by chance while looking for another spot, and looking back on our trip through Hat Yai and Krabi 6 months later, it remains one of our absolute highlights.

We kept it simple with papaya salad, green curry (gaeng keow wan), and stir-fried morning glory (pad pak bung). In my opinion, if a restaurant can’t master the basics, they won't master the complex dishes—but Zama nailed it.

The flavors were incredibly vibrant and well-balanced. They hit the 'just right' spice level for us, but more importantly, the profile was authentically complete: you could taste the perfect harmony of sweetness, saltiness, acidity, umami, and heat. Nothing was out of place.

The plating was beautiful, the cutlery felt high-quality, and the overall atmosphere was calm and thoughtful. Beyond the food, the service was excellent—very attentive and genuinely interested in our feedback. We’ll definitely be back to try their signature grandmother's recipes next time!

What a gem! I was absolutely charmed by the atmosphere of this restaurant and the friendly people working there.

The menu is not your typical tourist pad thai list, it’s a collection of authentic southern Thai and Chinese dishes that will broaden your culinary horizons. I highly recommend the fried pork (even though I’m not a pork lover this one got my heart) and morning glory as the sauce with it is finger licking good.

I’ll definitely be back, thank you for having us!

P.S. the cutlery is the cutest :3

I’d say the best place I’ve eaten in Ao Nang given almost every place at the main beach area are catered to tourists.
Authentic Southern Thai cuisine with amazing flavours.

Favourite were the fried rice and stinky vegetables dish.
Least favourite was the tofu as it was a bit bland compared to the other dishes.
Really wanted the soft shell crab curry however they were out of stock at the time which was very unfortunate for us as was really looking forward to that dish.

Ordered: Ama style Tofu, Fried rice with shrimp fat, Southern curry style with chicken, eggplant salad, Stir-fried stinky Vegetables
Price: 1025 Baht

Beautiful, new-looking restaurant, with amazing service. We had the fried pepper shrimp, salt fried pork, and the crab curry soup. The soup had a lot of curry, was tom yum style with coconut milk, and very flavorful. Everything was amazing and came out quickly. Will definitely be back to try more food. We came with small kids and they offered fries and pizza though it wasn’t on the menu. We didn’t get it but it’s very nice that they offered.

Zama Krabi exceeded our expectations with its beautiful setting, excellent service, and incredible food. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed yet refined dining experience.

Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The flavours were well-balanced, and the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. We especially loved
Charred Eggplant Sladt, Shrimp Fat Chili Fried Rice and Soft shell Crab with yellow curry which were absolute highlights.

The service was outstanding—attentive without being intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations.

Overall, Zama Krabi is a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience in Krabi. We returned 2 days later and only wish we had discovered it sooner!
