Practical tips

  • Visit slightly before standard lunch or dinner peaks to avoid queues.
  • Carry cash; some local restaurants prefer it for small bills.
  • Mention allergies or chili level when ordering — Thai dishes can be spicy by default.
  • Pair your meal with bottled water and reef-safe sunscreen if you continue to the beach.

Best time to visit

About Krabi and Ao Nang

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

Best restaurant I’ve had so far in Ao Nang. The food came out really quickly. Rather authentic taste. Would be good if it’s spicier. The food portion is rather good and on the cheaper side, compared to other tourist-made famous spots. Would definitely come back again to try other dishes. Around 600+bht for all these dishes for 2

Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Food so good went here twice. Yes we did try the kodam one. Papaya salad is a must. We had prawns 2 times. The tom yam coconut soup was excellent. The lemon fish was great. Overall definitely recommend. Excellent pricing and portions are very good.

We’ve eaten here 4 times and can attest that this is the best food in Krabi and one of the best restaurants we’ve visited after spending one month in Thailand. Fabulous fresh seafood. Extensive menu where no dish disappoints. Prompt seating for lunch but there will be a wait for dinner but well worth it!

The food here is very tasty and incredibly affordable! We really enjoyed the Pad Thai and the fresh coconut was perfect. However, we had a small issue with hygiene as we found a hair in my wife's main dish. It’s a great spot for a budget-friendly meal, but they should definitely pay more attention to cleanliness. Worth a visit for the prices, but there is room for improvement.

Food was good. Leaves you some room to modify the taste to your liking. At 3pm there's a lot of occupied tables and people just continuously go in and out. We were given some watermelons while we wait for our food.
We tried the seafood tom yum, papaya salad, fried chili & pepper fish fillets, fried squid and some thai teas. All of them came out tasting good. I just had to ask for extra chilis to make mine spicy.
My picky eater liked the tom yum. After the meal we were given banana gummies. That was the first time we had those and it was good.
