About Krabi and Ao Nang

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

When planning island tours from Krabi, arrive at the pier early, bring sun protection, and keep cash for national park fees. Tour availability depends on tide and wind — confirm with the operator the evening before departure.

I trained at this Muay Thai gym for one month and booked the one month package with 12 private sessions, which cost around 23,125 THB. Overall the training was good, every week was different, the sessions were well structured and the trainers were all very kind and supportive.

One point that was disappointing, however, is that the description said equipment was included, such as hand wraps, gloves and other gear. But when I moved from the beginner to the intermediate class after two weeks, I found out that I had to pay an extra 100 THB for every session if I wanted to borrow shin guards. Considering that training can be twice a day, this quickly adds up and becomes quite expensive. I would prefer if shin guards were also included as part of the equipment.

Because of this, I ended up buying my own gloves (I recommend Fairtex), but I did not want to buy shin guards, since many travelers do not have space in their luggage to carry extra equipment.

I recently had the pleasure of training with Kru Boy at Kuhn Suek Muay Thai in Ao Nang, and it was an absolutely brilliant experience!

Kru Boy's approach to teaching is exceptional. He manages to perfectly blend the serious nature of learning authentic Muay Thai techniques with a truly positive and encouraging atmosphere. I particularly appreciate his patience and attention to detail. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, he tailors his instruction to your level, breaking down complex moves into manageable steps, which makes learning incredibly effective and fast-paced without ever feeling overwhelming. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students' progress.

But what truly sets the training apart is how much fun it is! Kru Boy has a fantastic sense of humour and creates a vibrant, energetic environment that makes even the toughest drills enjoyable. Every session is challenging but leaves you feeling motivated and energized. It's more than just a workout; it's a deeply rewarding cultural and physical experience.

If you're in Ao Nang and looking to learn Muay Thai from a top-tier trainer who makes every minute count and keeps the fun factor high, look no further than Kru Boy at Kuhn Suek Muay Thai. Highly, highly recommended!

My first Muay Thai session in Thailand was at Khun Suek Muay Thai in Ao Nang, and wow, what a vibe! Perfect for beginners like me learning the basics. The trainers are amazing, super friendly, and the service is top-notch. It was awesome connecting with other travelers in the group, and the cherry on top? That stunning view! The gym’s on the third floor, so I highly recommend the 4pm class—you’ll catch a gorgeous sunset right after. Huge thanks to the team—you guys rock!
