About Krabi and Krabi province
Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Krabi province sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.
Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.
When planning island tours from Krabi, arrive at the pier early, bring sun protection, and keep cash for national park fees. Tour availability depends on tide and wind — confirm with the operator the evening before departure.

I decided for KMAX Muay Thai Gym because the alternatives at Ao Nang felt a bit crowded. When I arrived, I was welcomed friendly. The coach carefully improved my technique, footwork and stance and was very sympathetic and friendly. I can recommend if you want something authentic and traditional. Thanks to the whole team!

Thank you guys/ Cornelia
Great gym in Krabi! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is really motivating. The trainers are professional and helpful, and the facilities are clean and well-equipped.
Highly recommend if you’re in the area — I’ll definitely come back!
Superb training here, had a one hour advanced session and was being trained by a muay thai champion Kru Rak (as pictured).
Furthermore there were another 2 trainers present giving constant tips, techniques and feedback to improve.
I learned more in 1 hour here than in my 3 group sessions at other well known muay thai gyms in Ao Nang. Definitely recommend for people that want to learn the art of muay thai from real experts who genuinely want to help you improve in a supportive environment!
Also, they provided quality wraps and almost brand new top quality venom boxing gloves (one of the best brands) which made the training session even more enjoyable. I would say this is one of the best muay thai gyms out there. I wish I had discovered this gem of a place sooner! The trainers were a combination of super skilled and friendly, they made the class enjoyable and I was learning every minute new muay thai techniques.
