About Krabi and Ao Nang

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

When planning island tours from Krabi, arrive at the pier early, bring sun protection, and keep cash for national park fees. Tour availability depends on tide and wind — confirm with the operator the evening before departure.

Liam, V & Connor - all very helpful and friendly. Because the gym is quite small, they were kind enough to give me access at 8am so l could have all the facilities to myself. Made good use of the 7 day gym pass - thank you very much!!

I welcome the idea of having a proper gym in a place like Railay, but the place was a bit of a disappointment: no water fountain (you have to buy your own water), no towels provided, no wipes to clean the machines after use.

In addition, the equipment was not in great shape: one multipurpose machine was out of order, and both treadmill need maintenance as the belt got loose and slips backwards when you increase speed, making them hazardous to use.

Few improvements are needed to make it really enjoyable!

Was very skeptical before I went due to the reviews regarding broken equipment but was pleasantly surprised. The gym was small but as long as you don't come expecting a big gym that's fine, after all this is an 'island gym'. The cost was 200baht which is very steep for Thailand but clearly they marked it up as it's the only gym in the area which is a shame but also that's business I guess.

There is a decent range of equipment for the size. Dumbbells up to 25kg, some kettlbells, a 15kg barbell, a decent amount of plates, treadmills, rower, cable machine, leg press, bike, pec dec etc. The space is airconned. I went at around 4pm and was there for about two hours and there was only ever one other person in there so it didn't feel crowded. I earlier walked by at like 12 and it looked quite busy with 4 or so people in there.

Overall, it's decent for a gym in an isolated area. Anybody who's spent any substantial amount of time in Thailand knows that most small islands and places like this rarely ever have gyms so overall this is worth a visit if you want to get a workout in.

It's a very simple gym but has most of the essentials to tie you over and keep the rust off while you're on your holiday/travels. It's kept very clean and has working AC. Dumbells go up to 25kg only, but it's plenty for most people. Price is a bit steep for a pass given its very standard. I think 100 bhat would have been more appropriate per day. The current price is 200 per day, with multi-day passes available at a slightly discounted rate.

Quick edit: I just used the Smith machine and noticed it is a bit knackered. It seems whoever runs the gym hasnt been oiling it, so it's very stiff up and down, and the rail bar has begun to rust. It makes it difficult to push and control down but also to twist to get the lock back on. If the owner is reading this, please keep this machine oiled, especially given the fact you're located seaside, which is bad for metal. Changed my rating to 3 due to this since it's a risk.

Great new gym open on Railay, located at Blanco Hostel but you don't have to be staying in the hostel to use it, its open to everyone. Clean, air-conditioned and good value for money.
